Brian Shaw annihilates journalist in explosive showdown ahead of East vs West Armwrestling 23

When you’re only 5ft10 and 145lbs, there are some things in life that aren’t recommended. Arm wrestling Brian Shaw is one of them.

Blessed with remarkable physical gifts, while friendly in nature, the 4X World’s Strongest Man is an extremely intimidating figure, capable of destroying any opponent of his choosing in almost any realm of human endeavor.

After such a phenomenal career in strongman, later tonight, the American will attempt to write another successful chapter of his sporting career when he goes head-to-head with Leonidas Arkona at East vs West Armwrestling 23 in Cologne, Germany.

So, in order to warm him up for the contest, I thought it only right to challenge the icon to a match. And of course, he was only too happy to accept.

Brian Shaw destroys journalist in an arm wrestle

When I stood across the table from Brian Shaw, I quickly succumbed to the reality that the upcoming sports fixture that I initially thought was going to be a clash of the titans was likely going to be closer to a showdown between Real Madrid and Accrington Stanley. Regardless, I decided to ooze bravado, asking the superstar whether he was nervous about the task ahead.

To my surprise, my opponent answered in the affirmative. And I’m going to choose to believe he wasn’t being sarcastic. Alas, while I started strong on the trash-talk front, Shaw quickly put me in my place, grabbing hold of my arm, which paled in comparison size-wise to his. To make matters worse, the 44-year-old’s jibe was met with a chorus of laughter from the members of the crowd who’d gathered to watch my demise.

Unfortunately for Shaw, however, this did nothing to deter me. If anything, it motivated me to produce what quite possibly would’ve been the greatest underdog tale of all time.

Sadly, though, this fantasy soon came crashing down around me, as within a matter of seconds, Shaw pinned my arm to the table, winning the match, and leaving me with an arm wrestling record of 0-1.

While admittedly my ego was undeniably dented, Shaw’s sportsmanship made the loss somewhat easier to take.

However, while I made for a walk in the park for the powerhouse, his match against Arkona, is likely to be far more competitive, with arm wrestling fans around the globe positively salivating at the prospect of the war to come.

Eddie Hall wanted to ‘Hit’ Brian Shaw

Throughout his time in strongman, Shaw made friends with many of his opponents, including Eddie Hall.

Throughout their respective time in the sport, the pair got on like a house on fire.

However, on one occasion, ‘The Beast’ was absolutely fuming at something that transpired.

After concocting a genius way to win World’s Strongest Man 2013, Hall wanted to ‘hit’ Shaw.
