WrestleMania dream matches are invariably discussed every time the calendar reaches the season of the Showcase of the Immortals.
As soon as the Royal Rumble is in the rearview, WWE fans look ahead to WrestleMania and begin to piece together their dream cards for the biggest show of the year.
And while many dream matches often do not materialise for one reason or another, they can at least be imagined virtually on WWE 2K26.

The latest instalment of 2K’s sports entertainment based franchise allows players to either revisit and reimagine iconic WrestleMania moments from years gone by or create new ones of their very own.
With this in mind, SPORF put the question to several WWE stars during WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas: What WrestleMania dream matches would you book for yourselves if you had the power?
WrestleMania dream matches
With over 400 playable characters available on WWE 2K26, this year’s game is in possession of the most gargantuan roster in franchise history. So who did WWE’s current roster members want to book themselves against in their ultimate WrestleMania dream matches?
“A dream match with anyone from history? There’s so many,” smiles Je’Von Evans, the 21-year-old phenomenon who will attempt to become the youngest Intercontinental Champion of all time at WrestleMania 42, this weekend when he faces off against champion Penta, Rey Mysterio, Rusev, Dragon Lee and JD McDonagh in a ladder match.
“OK, if I can choose anybody I would go with Shawn Michaels. What version of Shawn, though? I would go with 90’s DX, Shawn. Know what I mean? I feel like that’s when he was, not in his prime, but that’s when he was doing his thing. I think that would be fire, for sure.”
The Young OG’s choice of going head-to-head with Mr.WrestleMania is pretty unbeatable, but some of Evans’ locker room colleagues still had plenty of big fantasy bookings to reveal.
“I go back and forth on a whole bunch of girls,” says former Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green as she agonises over her choice. “I want me and Maxxine Dupri, me with Tiffany Stratton and Giulia. I want me and Rhea Ripley. There’s so many of them.”
Judgement Day powerhouse Raquel Rodriguez also kept things current with her choices, “There’s a lot of people I would love to have WrestleMania dream matches with. I would love to have a dream match with Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania. I’d also love to face Bianca Belair at WrestleMania.
“I’ve got to work with Liv Morgan as a team at WrestleMania, so that dreams already been accomplished. So I’d have to say those two for right now, Rhea and Bianca. Those are my big ones.”
SmackDown and former NXT star Jordynne Grace, meanwhile, looked to history for her ultimate opponents on the grandest stage of them all.
“I think I would definitely have to pick Chyna and Jazz as my dream matches. I just love strong women versus strong women, so those are my dream matches for WrestleMania.”

Matt Cardona didn’t have a specific preference of an ideal opponent, however. The artist formerly known as Zack Ryder – who 10 years ago lifted the Intercontinental Title after victory in an all-timer of a ladder match with the likes of Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, The Miz, Sin Cara and Dolph Ziggler – was eyeing an ambitious future bout for different reasons.
“Matt Cardona versus whoever is walking into WrestleMania as the World Champion. I came back to WWE to be World Champion, to be the WWE Champion. So whoever has one of those titles versus Matt Cardona.”
42 years and 400 matches to revisit
As well as being able to create your own fantasy moments in WWE 2K26, players can also spend countless hours trawling back through over four decades and 400 plus matches from the ‘Mania annals.
With WrestleMania 42 taking place this weekend across two nights at Allegiant Stadium, in Las Vegas, players won’t have to wait long to book their own version of the latest instalment of WWE’s show of shows.
The WrestleMania 42 Downloadable Content pack is set to drop this summer, featuring the WrestleMania 42 Arena and three alternate Superstar Personas. Additional content will be revealed and available in the weeks following the culmination of this year’s show.
Four editions of WWE 2K26 are available for pre-order now. King of Kings Edition, Attitude Era Edition, and Monday Night War Edition are scheduled for worldwide release on Friday, March 6, 2026, seven days prior to the Standard Edition, which will be available Friday, March 13, 2026.
