EXCLUSIVE: Devon Larratt is determined to enact his revenge against Levan Saginashvili.
On Saturday evening, in front of a raucous crowd in Cologne, Germany, ‘No Limits’ produced a truly special performance. After losing the opening round to Vitaly Laletin at East vs West Armwrestling 23, he bounced back to dominate the rest of the contest, showboating in a display that was both spellbindingly impressive and outrageously entertaining. Now, with ‘The Siberian Bear’, out of the way, the Canadian is focused on the next chapter.
Devon Larratt wants Levon Saginashvili to face Vitaly Laletin
Devon Larratt has cemented his status as one of the greatest arm wrestlers of all time. However, while he’s already written his name into the history books, in order to bolster his already remarkable legacy, he’s dead set on toppling Levan Saginashvili.
However, before a potential match-up with the superstar takes place, the 50-year-old first wants the East vs West super heavyweight world champion to have to battle it out with one of his other rivals.
In an exclusive interview with Sporf, the icon explained: “I have so much respect for Levan Saginashvili. In my opinion, he’s our greatest champion. From what I’ve seen, he’s the greatest the sport has made while I’ve been alive. But the truth is, as arm wrestlers, you always try to be the best, so I must continue to chase Levan. I want it to be close, and I know if I match his timeline, he’s been resting, and he’s ready to kill the next person he pulls. I need to beat him by any means necessary. In June, his date expires, that’s one year. I’m now the interim champion; he has to earn his way to me. Let him fight Vitaly. I’ll be waiting for him; he won’t be quite as fresh when he faces me. It’s only fair. We have a destiny. I’ll chase the top as long as I can.”

Devon Larratt opens up about the most important rival of his career
While today, fans around the globe know Larratt as being one of the best to ever grace the sport, at one point, he was just a kid with a dream. After falling in love with the discipline as a child by competing against his grandmother, he eventually met one person who’d change his life forever.
He reminisced: “Thank you so much for bringing that up, because that is such a massive part of my journey. Dion Lengyel, when I went out west and worked in the oilfield, this guy was something I’d never seen before. I’d never seen a human like that, so fast, violent and strong. He was the most fearsome dude I’d seen in my life at that point. I just knew I had to learn from him, and he was in arm wrestling. That’s where it started for me.
“Do you want to hear a crazier story? So, Dion taught me. Matt Mask was taught by his brother, Aaron Lengyel. Matt and I are considered brothers in the sport, and we were trained by brothers.”
