Brock Lesnar gives a definitive answer to UFC return question

After years of waiting, Brock Lesnar has finally given fans a definitive answer on whether he’ll ever return to the UFC.

‘The Beast Incarnate’ rose to stardom through his spell-bounding performances in the WWE. The powerhouse captivated fans with his ferocious power and intimidating aura. He had all the ingredients of a bonafide Hall of Famer, which resulted in his multiple world title reigns.

But after leaving the promotion in 2004, he began pursuing an entirely different challenge. Lensar decided to take advantage of his insane physical gifts and combine them with his genuine world-class wrestling credentials.

After just one fight, he signed with the UFC and took the world by storm. Following a loss to Frank Mir, he snapped into a terrifying gear that few men could match. He overawed his opponents like a fast-moving steamroller to claim the belt within two years of taking up the sport.

However, after sustaining devastating losses to Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem, respectively, and enduring a long battle with diverticulitis, he decided to call time on his career. But to the joy of fans around the globe, he made a triumphant comeback five years later. He defeated Mark Hunt via a comprehensive wrestling clinic.

However, the contest was later ruled a ‘No Contest’ after Lesnar failed his drug test.

Despite this, the MMA community still clamoured to see his return. And the icon teased fans by shoving Daniel Cormier across the octagon after the Louisianian knocked out Stipe Miocic. But despite a mass amount of hype for the battle between two of the sport’s elite grapplers, the bout never materialised.

Will Brock Lesnar return to the UFC?

After seven years of waiting, the 44-year-old has confirmed that his time as a mixed martial artist has come to an end.

In an interview with the New York Post, he admitted that the period of his life in which he could operate at a high level has come to its conclusion.

He said: “I’m too old. That’s a young man’s sport, and that door is closed. I’m Brock Lesnar, the WWE Superstar.”

Although this news will disappoint the supporters who hadn’t entirely closed the book on the Lesnar story, they’ll understand his decision.

Now in his mid-forties, the talented sportsman doesn’t have the same athleticism that he used to, which would make any return to the cage incredibly risky.

But luckily for Lesnar-heads, they can still catch him in the world of wrestling, doing what he does best. The 265-pound monster is the WWE Champion once again and is currently preparing for a mega-collision with Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania.
