Chelsea closing in on signing Neymar

After deciding against securing the services of Neymar in the summer, Todd Boehly has demanded that Chelsea do whatever it takes to bring the player to Stamford Bridge.

According to El País, the London club wanted to sign the Brazilian on loan and pay €10 million in wages. Despite that being just a quarter of his salary, the player and his club were interested in the offer, with PSG happy to pay the rest of his salary. But in the end, ‘The Blues’ made a U-turn.

Upon reviewing his performances, Chelsea viewed the deal as a waste of time. Neymar had struggled throughout his ‘painful season’ and weighed a whopping seven kilos more than he had just a couple of months prior.

However, after a fantastic start to the season, the London club have changed their minds. With the World Cup on the horizon, the 30-year-old has dedicated himself to returning to the peak of his powers. Neymar has amassed nine goals and seven assists from 11 matches in Ligue 1. Thus indicating that he’s ready to make the plunge into Chelsea’s starting line-up.

And after reviewing his tremendous showings, the London club’s new chairman has made it his mission to make the goal-scorer into his team as soon as possible.
