Find out the Chris Eubank Jr vs Liam Williams UK start time, how to watch, and more in this handy fight guide.
Chris Eubank Jr vs Liam Williams takes place this weekend after months of delay.
The boxers have been engaged in a war of words for more than a year having first come together at a tense sparring session a decade ago.
“Chris walks in and ignores everyone,” Williams told reporters last November.
“We end up doing a couple of rounds, he starts complaining, ‘what the hell is this, UFC?’ because I was roughing him up, manhandling him and boyed him off.
“He didn’t like the way he went down and since then on we’ve just had it in for each other.”
Since then, the rivalry has only gotten uglier. In 2020, Williams called Eubank Jr a “f***ing ballbag” on Twitter.
Eubank Jr replied by calling him a “big talker” and “all fart, no stink.”
Multiple delays
Following the back and forth, the pair were slated to fight in December before a shoulder injury meant Williams had to pull out.
A rescheduled January date was then put on hold after the British Boxing Board of Control suspended all UK boxing for the month.
Now, the bout is set to go ahead this weekend with both fighters having different sources of motivation.
For Williams, it is the chance to pull off a shock and defeat the bookies favourite Eubank Jr.
Eubank Jr, meanwhile, told Sky Sports it was a “personal fight” for him and a chance to make Williams “eat his words.”
Not only is their pride on the line but BOXXER CEO Ben Shalom told DAZN that the victor will be given a title shot next.
