Could Thierry Henry have a role at Tottenham?… Viral TikTok causes outrage with Arsenal fans

A viral TikTok, claiming to show Thierry Henry leaving Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground, while wearing a Spurs coat, adorned with the initials, ‘TH’, has spread around the internet like wildfire, sparking a whirlwind of speculation and controversy.

The video, posted on social media, by Spurs fan @THFC_James6, has provoked a massive reaction from fans, with the content creator himself attempting to provide evidence that the images are indeed of the Arsenal legend.

Has Thierry Henry secured a job at Tottenham?

The concept of perhaps the greatest player to have ever represented ‘The Gunners’ having some sort of role at Tottenham, is beyond the realms of belief for some. However, upon breaking down the details, the TickTocker makes an interesting case.

When zooming into the jacket of the man inside the car, the ‘TH’ initials on his coat, appear to be in the exact same place as the ‘RB’ on Rob Burch’s jacket, indicating the natural-born goal scorer could potentially be involved with Arsenal’s North London rivals as a member of their coaching staff.

Surmising this to be the case, the video ends with a simple message on screen: “Ange out, Henry in. Cry about it, Arsenal fans.”

Of course, the possibility of Henry being involved with a team with whom he shared such a fierce rivalry, has sparked a massive response from fans of both clubs, with reactions ranging from humour and disbelief to outright denial.

Arsenal supporters were nothing short of horrified, with an army of TikTok users taking to the comment section to vent their frustrations.

One fan, said: “Doesn’t remotely look like him, and his general dislike for Spurs is very well known”,  while another added: “Embarrassing. Tottenham fans getting gassed over an Arsenal legend.”

Their views were shared by many, with logical supporters concluding that Henry would never have anything to do with a club he shared such an intense feud with.

But while this may be the case, it didn’t stop Spurs fans from getting involved, turning the comment section into a battleground.

Winding up his rival team’s fan base, one user wrote: “He’s picked the right team.”

Adding insult to injury, another exclaimed: “I’m not gonna lie. That really looks like him.”

Do Tottenham fans want Thierry Henry at their club?

While many a Tottenham enthusiast would’ve been rendered furious whenever they had the displeasure of watching Henry play their side, with his epic solo goal back in 2002, springing to mind, many will likely forgive and forget if he decides to make the switch. 

Alas, even some of those who adore the club confessed that the idea might be a little far-fetched, with others suggesting the gifted player would not be a good fit.

One individual admitted: “I’m a Spurs fan and can honestly say Henry would never want anything to do with Spurs. Another raged: “Why would you want an Arsenal legend as Spurs’ manager. Are you sure you’re a Spurs fan?”

Amid all the arguing and confusion, several fans took the opportunity to throw some much-needed comic relief into the mix, mocking the absurdity of the situation in ways only football lovers can.

A witty individual commented: “When you order Thierry Henry from TikTok shop,” with another laughing: “Arrived at 10:05, left at 10:10… must be their trophy cabinet cleaner.”

Regardless of everything said, the true identity of the man in the photographs remains a mystery. Whether it’s just a look-alike, a complete mix-up, or a tremendous publicity stunt, we’ve all been left with more questions than answers.

But in all likelihood, fans of the 2004 Premier League winners will never have to worry about their hero turning to what they’d describe as the dark side, with a bemused supporter writing: “My Nan is more likely to play for Real Madrid than that happening.”
