Alas, while having done so much in his career, Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to have claimed the most coveted prize in all of sport. And because of this, Desailly would love to see the natural-born goal scorer finally cross the finishing line.

In an exclusive interview with Sporf, via Betinia NJ, the Frenchman explained: “I would like to give a reward to Cristiano Ronaldo and the Portuguese because they also have a very good team. Lionel Messi had his World Cup in Qatar, why not Ronaldo having his own reward for what he has done in the last 20 years? For this generation, these two are amazing players.”

While Desailly thinks it would be fantastic for Ronaldo to finally win a World Cup, his first performance in this year’s tournament didn’t go particularly well.

And following the match, an icon claimed Thomas Tuchel wouldn’t have picked Ronaldo.
