Cristiano Ronaldo is downgraded in FIFA 22

Cristiano Ronaldo has seen his player rating drop for the third consecutive year ahead of FIFA 22’s release.

The return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United has served as quite the boost for a club that, in the eyes of many, should be challenging for the Premier League title this season. The Portuguese sensation managed to get off to a bright start with two goals against Newcastle United and in doing so, he confirmed the worst fears of all 19 other clubs in the top flight – he isn’t done just yet.

Do you agree with his rating?

Still, while he may be proving his worth on the pitch, the FIFA video game series seems to think he’s on something of a slow decline.

In what will be his 19th appearance in a FIFA game, Ronaldo will drop down to an overall rating of 91 which is the lowest he’s been at since FIFA 11.

The fact that he’s 36 years of age probably has something to do with this as FIFA prepare for a world whereby Cristiano isn’t a consistent, featured member of the professional game. Alas, even dropping his rating by one feels a little bit premature, and they’ll be made to look pretty foolish if he can kick on and have another incredible campaign under the Old Trafford banner.

Either way we’re still likely to see millions upon millions of gamers whacking him in their FUT side at the first available opportunity.

CR7 is expected to be back in the starting XI tonight for United’s trip to take on Young Boys.
