UFC president Dana White has made it crystal clear that he has no interest in working with the Paul brothers.
Jake and Logan Paul have been doing a pretty effective job of capturing the attention of the combat sports world in recent months. Between Jake knocking out Ben Askren and Logan being scheduled to box Floyd Mayweather, they seem to be sitting pretty.
White not buying into it
On top of that you’ve also got Jake Paul seemingly creating chaos everywhere he goes, which has grabbed the attention of Dana White on more than one occasion.
After being asked about potentially doing some business with them down the road during an interview with ESPN, White was quite defiant in where he stands on the whole thing.
“First of all, I would never do business with those guys, just no. It’s not what we do.”
White was then questioned about whether he’d loan out a UFC fighter to fight one of them: “I’m not gonna f**king loan them a guy, for f**king what? There’s no way.
“You’ve got plenty of f**king goofballs out there that you can muster up to get in there and play these games that these guys are playing. I’m not your guy.”
While some feel as if White would change his mind if the money was right, he did seem fairly assertive here.
Jake and Logan have carved out a space for themselves in the celebrity fighter market and right now, they’re doing it better than just about anyone else.
The UFC’s issue is that they obviously wouldn’t want fighters to risk getting knocked out or even injured by either one of them, as we saw with Jake against Ben Askren. If that happens, the embarrassment for Dana White and company would be insane. White obviously sees the whole thing as a bit of a sideshow too, and wouldn’t want the brand associated.
