Dana White and Jake Paul have shared a frosty relationship, to say the least, since the YouTuber’s unwelcomed arrival into the world of combat sports.
The pair have gone back and forth non-stop, with the 24-year-old seemingly getting the upper hand. Paul has now knocked out two of the UFC‘s best-known stars in Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren, and now he wants a third on his resume.
Who does the YouTuber want next?
Following his crushing knockout victory over Woodley, Paul firmly set his sights on Jorge Masvidal.
During an appearance on his brother Logan’s podcast, Impaulsive, the ex-Disney presenter called out ‘Gamebred’ in a very public fashion.
He said: “Masvidal is like, ‘I only fight the best people or I fight for money, and you’re neither one of those’. So I’ve got an offer for you right now: a $5m guarantee, plus a percentage of pay-per-views.
“That’s the most you would have ever made in a fight, ever. So now you can’t say, ‘I either fight the best, or I fight for money’. Let’s make it happen.”
How did Dana White respond to Jake Paul?
Despite all this, it doesn’t look like the Cleveland native will have his wish granted anytime soon. During an interview with THE FIGHT with Teddy Atlas, Dana White says he will refuse to let his fighters set foot in the ring and suggested that Paul should actually take on a boxer.
The UFC president stated: “No, no. When they’re out of contract they can fight. He wants to fight f***ing everybody that’s not in his weight class, guys that are older and all that bull s**. Go find a boxer.”
White may not be interested in letting his athletes fight the social media icon. But that doesn’t mean he’s not interested in making a deal with the 24-year-old.
He offered: “I’ve got a challenge for Jake Paul. So this guy keeps saying that I’m a ‘coke head’, right? So he can randomly cocaine test me for the next ten years if I can randomly steroid test him for the next two.”
It’s unlikely that he’ll take White up on the offer. But there’s no doubt that he’ll come up with some imaginative response.
As for his next opponent, we don’t know who Paul will fight next. Fans are still desperate for the Fury fight to be re-scheduled after the Love Island star was forced to pull out of the original December 18 date due to injury.
However, former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has claimed that he has received an offer to fight the YouTuber, as per the Daily Mirror. But regardless of who his next opponent is, Jake Paul has already made waves in the world of boxing. He wants to make a few more.
