Nick Webb says Daniel Dubois is a big puncher

Throughout his career, Nick Webb has proven his skills beyond doubt, knocking out Erik Pfeifer, winning the Golden Robe in the Ultimate BOXXER tournament, and most recently finishing Courtney Bennett to pick up the Southern Area title. Suffice to say, the powerhouse packs a massive punch, making his sessions with Daniel Dubois in the gym, a battle of two excellent fighters, with dynamite in their hands.

During an exclusive interview with Sporf, the Englishman reminisced: “Dubois and I had quite a few rounds. One day I got him, and another day he got me. It was very good sparring and a very good experience. He can knock you out with his jab; he’s a big puncher.”

And ‘Triple D’ isn’t the only heavy hitter ‘Wild Webb’ has gone to war with. During his amateur career, he travelled to the USA for a thrilling bout with an opponent who weighed a whopping 155 kg.

The 38-year-old chuckled: “Listen, he hit me with a left hook, and the whole right side of my body went numb. I remember that. I knew I could outbox him and move around, but that was a wicked night in Chicago. It was a fun time.”

Nick Webb predicts a stoppage win against Emanuel Odiase

In a matter of hours, Webb will walk out into enemy territory, in front of a raucous crowd of 13,000 fans. His opponent, Odiase, has cemented his status as one of the most promising heavyweight prospects on Earth, having accumulated a 10-0 (8) record.

However, while the German is likely a star for the future, his British rival believes this fight has come far too early, and thus, expects to cause an upset that will send shockwaves through the division.

Webb enthused: “He’s a tall guy, but he’s very inexperienced. He’s not fought anybody. I’m his first real test, so it’s time to knock him out.”
