Eddie Hearn has high praise for Fury & Wilder after trilogy fight

Eddie Hearn couldn’t help but praise Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder after their epic heavyweight war on Saturday night.

Earlier this year it seemed as if Eddie Hearn would be in the midst of promoting Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua throughout the summer – but instead, a court of arbitration ruling ensured that Fury would instead take on Deontay Wilder for the third time.

While this contest was closer than the previous two, Fury was still able to get the better of his American foe and managed to finish the fight with an electric knockout win in the eleventh round.

Hearn was one of the millions watching around the world and even though there’s a clear rivalry between himself and Fury, the boxing fan inside him simply couldn’t ignore just how fascinating the final instalment of their trilogy was.

Respect shown from Hearn

With regards to his own position in the current heavyweight title picture, Hearn is focusing all of his attention on booking the rematch between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk for early 2022.

It comes after Usyk comprehensively beat Joshua via unanimous decision last month at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, throwing a spanner in the works for all of those hoping to see Joshua vs Fury next year.

It may still happen, but Hearn and Joshua have to work harder than ever before if they’re going to get the attention of “The Gypsy King”.
