Footage has emerged of new Man City striker Erling Haaland taking his medical at the club, and his reaction to his height shows his sense of humour.
Man City officially announced the signing of the highly rated superstar this week. Having confirmed their agreement with Borussia Dortmund some time ago, the Norwegian was finally unveiled as a Man City player.
The 21-year-old will join the club on July 1 in a deal totalling £85.5 million. He has signed a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
The initial fee is believed to be £51 million, after City paid Dortmund the striker’s release clause.
Why have Man City signed Erling Haaland?
Haaland has been brought in to do one job: score goals. Some fans question City for lacking a striker, and Haaland fits the bill.
Last season, Pep Guardiola’s side scored 99 goals in the Premier League, so it is clear they do not struggle to find the net. However, there is one competition in which they have consistently fallen short: the Champions League.
City have acquired Haaland with that competition in mind. Haaland’s raw pace and power will give the Cityzens a different dimension, and there is a hope that it will allow them to overcome their Champions League hoodoo.

Haaland passed his medical without any hitches. But there was one comical moment, as posted by Classic Man City on TikTok.
In a video of his medical online, the City medical staff take Haaland’s height. Haaland asks: “How tall was I?” to which the member of staff replies, “195.2 centimetres.”
“Oh my God,” Haaland says. “Still growing! Almost one centimetre.”
Those in the room crack up with laughter at Haaland’s reaction as he lies down for the next part of his medical.
Even at just one centimetre taller, Haaland has just become an even more daunting prospect for opposition defences.
The striker already possesses a massive frame. Coupling that with his strength and pace is no surprise that the striker has the reputation that he does.
Haaland can intimate even the most accomplished defenders, and any addition to his height only makes him better.
It will certainly be interesting to see how he gets on for his new club next term.
