Erling Haaland subject of ‘big’ incoming Chelsea bid

Borussia Dortmund’s resilience on the transfer market will be tested as Chelsea are reportedly lining up a mega bid for Erling Haaland.

That’s the latest report from Norwegian journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft anyway. The reporter said in a recent tweet that Haaland will be subject to a mammoth offer to test Dortmund’s resolve.

He said: “Re: Haaland I understand Chelsea are preparing a “BIG offer” to check out and challenge Dortmund’s “he will stay here next season”. The understanding is that Dortmund won’t say no to 175 million euro.”

The Blues already have Timo Werner in their ranks. Where the German attacker failed to live up to expectations in the goal front, he impressed with his dogged determination and grit – but still, they lack a prolific striker leading the line.

Such a force could be compounded further with the arrival of Haaland. but so far Borussia have stood firm in their stance that the player will be playing in the Bundesliga for them for the next campaign.

Thomas Tuchel is prioritising signing a forward with Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham looking like they will be departing Stamford Bridge this summer window.

This will open the space for a new arrival, and Haaland is one of the best choices out there considering his age.

Haaland misses training

Michael Zorc, Dortmund’s chief, joked the striker is ‘already in England’ after the striker was missing from the club’s fitness camp on Monday.

When Sky Sports Germany cottoned on and asked where Haaland was, Zorc smiled and joked: “He’s already in England”

Haaland has scored 57 goals in 59 games since joining Dortmund, and the club believes him to be worth near £150m.

The 20-year-old striker recently spoke out against the foul racism that surfaced on social media towards England’s players after their loss to Germany.
