Ex-WWE star Bray Wyatt posts cryptic message, teases return to wrestling

Former WWE star Bray Wyatt has posted a cryptic message online, which appears to hint he is ‘ready’ for a return to wrestling.

Wyatt was released by WWE in July 2021. The news came as a major shock to fans. Wyatt was one of the top stars in the company at the time, although he had been away from WWE programming since April.

He was a three-time world champion in WWE, and captivated fans with his mask-wearing ‘Fiend’ persona. Wyatt earned great praise from fans and critics for his character work, which involved him portraying an almost supernatural gimmick.

Towards the end of his run with the company, the 35-year-old lost the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns at Payback. He then embarked on a long-running feud with Randy Orton, which also involved Alexa Bliss.

With WWE still operating in empty arenas due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it allowed them to get more creative with the storyline. The company used special effects to create a darker storyline, with both The Fiend and Bliss regularly performing disappearing acts. Bliss once threw a fireball at Orton’s face, whilst The Fiend was even set on fire inside the ring at one stage.

After 12 years with WWE, Bray Wyatt was soon looking for a new challenge. But since his release in July, he hasn’t stepped into a wrestling ring.

Wyatt hints at a return to wrestling

Wyatt – real name Windham Rotunda – has recently changed his name to ‘Wyatt 6’ on his official Twitter account. He previously used Windham as his Twitter name and handle.

Alongside this change, he posted a series of messages that hint at his return to competitive wrestling.

He wrote: “Everything good that’s ever happened to me, first came a period horrible suffering.

“I never ask why, I just wait for the rough part to end. I was chosen for whatever reason. And I’ve got s**t to do. It doesn’t hurt anymore, it burns.

“I’m tired of watching. Tired of hearing irrelevant clowns speculate how I’ll be perceived. Tired of hearing about my greed, my desire questioned. Wherever and whenever I decide to return, I’ll remind everyone why they know my name. Again. And again. Believe in me.”

Bray Wyatt takes aim at critics

Wyatt referred to “irrelevant clowns” and those who questioned his desire and greed in his tweets.

This may be because various sources claimed that the ex-WWE star had a very asking price to return to the business for any company. His latest tweets, at least, appear to indicate this was not necessarily the case.

Wyatt has hinted at an imminent return to wrestling on a prior occasion. Before WrestleMania 38, he posted to Instagram, telling fans that he was in Dallas, Texas – the location of the showpiece WWE event.

This, coincidentally, was at a time when Seth Rollins‘ mystery opponent for the show – later revealed to be Cody Rhodes – still had not been confirmed.

When asked by a WWE fan if he was going to be in the match, Bray Wyatt responded: “I love Seth. I love him so goddamn much. Me and him will make up for that one day. And when we do, everyone will understand that wild horses are meant to run free.”
