Football fans have praised Aston Villa for the transparency they’ve shown after Jack Grealish’s departure from the club.
Last night, amidst the chaos of the Lionel Messi news, it was announced that Manchester City had completed the signing of Jack Grealish for a fee believed to be around £100 million. It’s a British transfer record and based on what Jack has been able to produce for club and country in recent years, it’s hardly surprising to see that kind of money being thrown around.
How a club should operate
Villa fans have also been treated to a few good signings during the transfer window with Buendia, Ings and Bailey all making their way over to the Midlands. However, some supporters wanted to know a little bit more about the entire process – and the club’s chief executive Christian Purslow obliged with an informative five-minute video to explain how AVFC approached the situation.
Unsurprisingly, the masses were pretty happy and surprised by the level of transparency and clarity provided by Purslow.
“Thank you Christian Purslow, you explained the club’s decision-making processes rationally, and sensibly. The whole management team have conducted themselves with absolute class and represented #avfc so well!”
This kind of attitude is especially crucial in the aftermath of the European Super League debacle which, as we all know, threatened to tear the very foundations of English football apart.
If we can get more of this from owners and board members in the future, the integrity of the game has a fighting chance.
