FIFA 21: Most overpowered Prem players for your Ultimate Team

The Premier League is one of the most popular leagues to buy players from on FIFA 21 Ultimate Team.

Every promo features players from England’s top division, and there’s always plenty of impressive cards either to buy on the market or complete via SBCs or objectives.

Of course, the most elite cards will cost you a eye-watering amount of in-game coins in most cases.

However, that’s not to say you can’t still buy top players at a fraction of the price. And whilst most of those names will have been more prominent in the early stages of FIFA 21, you can still find success with them now.

Let’s take a look at five overpowered Premier League cards that you can buy right now on Ultimate Team:

Timo Werner (Chelsea)

Most FIFA players, especially in the early days of the game cycle, will have seen plenty of Timo Werner in opposition teams. His card is one of the most overpowered Premier League cards in the game.

According to FIFA website Futbin, his 85 rated rare gold card has been used in over 15 million games, with the German international averaging over a goal a game. Impressive stuff.

Werner has the perfect combination for Ultimate Teams this year – high pace (91), good off the ball movement and lethal finishing (88).

His rare gold card is currently available at around 17,000 coins.

Joe Gomez (Liverpool)

Joe Gomez is another player that FIFA users know all about coming up against.

The Liverpool defender is a rock at the back in Ultimate Team, even with more and more potent attackers being introduced to the mode.

He has good reactions and composure for a centre-back. He has 82 pace and 83 defending means that opposing strikers have a difficult time getting past him.

His 83-rated base card is currently available for around 7,000 coins.

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)

For those on a relatively small budget, there are arguably no better English striker options in FIFA 21 than Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.

His 76-rated card was commonly seen in starter squads, with his 84-rated second in-form card being one of the most overpowered in the division.

Some of his standout attributes include 92 agility, 91 positioning, 94 heading and 93 stamina. He also has 90 pace.

Even better, the card currently comes in at around 35,000 coins on the PlayStation transfer market – arguably a steal for a card of such quality.

Raphinha (Leeds United)

Leeds United’s Raphinha was one of the most sought-after wingers in the Premier League at the beginning of FIFA 21.

His high pace and dribbling stats meant he was a big hit with FIFA players, as well as his possession of the flair trait.

Peaking at 7,000 coins on PlayStation, the Brazilian’s price then dipped to its current figure of around 1,000 coins.

Raphinha also has a ‘What If’ card that was obtainable via SBC. Although that has long since expired, his 84-rated in-form card is available to pick up for around 65,000 coins on the PS market.

Daniel Podence (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

One of the first Premier League ‘special’ cards to be released on FIFA 21, Wolves’ Daniel Podence was awarded a stats boost as part of the ‘Rulebreakers’ promo.

It’s certainly an interesting card. The Portuguese winger has 95 agility, 97 balance and 92 positioning, as well as 88 pace. There’s also that soft link to Cristiano Ronaldo, and a green link to Ruben Neves and FUT Birthday Adama Traore (if you have the coins).

His 33 strength is on the low side, but his agility and balance somewhat make up for that.

Podence’s ‘Rulebreakers’ card is currently available for around 30,000 coins on the transfer market.
