While the UFC is the be-all and end-all for many fighters, Losene Keita has instead chosen superstardom in Oktagon MMA and the prospect of making life-changing money.
While competing in the American promotion is still his dream, he can’t bring himself to leave the organisation he calls ‘home’.
Losene Keita is ready to win the €1,000,000 Oktagon MMA Tipsport Gamechanger tournament
Blessed with thunderous power and lightning speed, Losene Keita has cemented his place as an Oktagon MMA legend.
In his sensational career to date, ‘The Black Panther’ has scaled the mountain in both the lightweight and featherweight divisions, proving himself as one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in Europe.
And while the UFC calls his name, the athlete’s mission in Oktagon is long from done, with the final of the Tipsport Gamechanger set to take place on December 29 at the O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, against his old rival Ronald Paradeiser.
Last weekend, the two finalists produced mesmerizing performances, with Keita putting on a clinic over Mateusz Legierski, while the Slovakian demolished Acoidan Duque.
Thus, with momentum on the side of both men, their epic collision looks destined to excite.
And if they weren’t motivated solely by the prospect of settling an old grudge, then they certainly will be by the cash prize on the line. The competition, which featured 16 fighters, has a combined prize pot of €1,000,000, with €300,000 going to the winner.
The pair first clashed in 2022, with Keita winning via decision. However, at the Oktagon 61 post-fight press conference, his nemesis was adamant that this time around, things are going to be very different.
He told Sporf: “I’ll switch it up. I’ll do my job. I don’t think he’s seen an opponent like me. I’ve moved a long way since the last time we fought each other. So, it’s going to be a big trial for him.”
Sat just two seats away, Keita quickly responded: “I’ve already beat him, so I’ve already seen an opponent like him. I was there with him for 25 minutes, so, actually, I know him.”
