Finn Balor appears to react to being left off WrestleMania card

Finn Balor appears to share the disappointment of WWE fans at being left off the card for WrestleMania 38.

Despite being the reigning United States Champion going into the event, Balor will not appear at WrestleMania.

Instead, he took part in the annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on SmackDown this Friday. Balor was one of the final two competitors. However, he was eliminated by Madcap Moss.

There had been hopes that Balor would defend his title against former champion Damian Priest. The pair have been embroiled in a feud on Raw ever since the Irishman won the belt earlier in March.

The lack of Finn Balor on the WrestleMania card is a big disappointment for fans. He was the first-ever Universal Champion back in 2016. In total, the 41-year-old is a three-time champion in WWE. He also reached the final of the King of the Ring tournament in November. Balor would lose to Xavier Woods.

Fans took to Twitter to express their sadness that neither Balor, nor Intercontinental Champion Ricochet, would be at ‘The Show of Shows’.

Finn Balor posts cryptic tweet ahead of WrestleMania

Shortly before WrestleMania got underway, Balor took to Twitter to share his thoughts with WWE fans.

Alongside a picture of himself with the United States Championship on his waist, Balor stated: “I HEAR YOU”, with a folded hands emoji.

Earlier in the week, he posted a photo of himself standing below the WrestleMania sign.

There is no confirmation of precisely what Balor means by the tweet, but if it is related to his absence this weekend, it is perfectly understandable for a top star to feel disappointed by a non-appearance at WWE’s biggest live event.

Alongside Balor and Ricochet, Damian Priest, Jinder Mahal and Alexa Bliss are amongst the talent not to have a match at WrestleMania 38. All three of those names are former champions in WWE.

Although WWE has an insane amount of talent on show for their biggest event, it is hard not to feel sympathy for those that have missed out.
