Footage shows moment Eddie Hall suffered serious bicep injury

Footage has emerged of the moment Eddie Hall suffered a nasty bicep injury that has ruled him out of his boxing match against Hafthor Bjornsson.

Over the course of the last five years we’ve seen a rivalry brewing between strongman rivals Hall and Bjornsson. The pair’s feud came to a boiling point at the 2017 World’s Strongest Man competition when, after Eddie’s win, Thor accused the WSM of “rigging” the final in favour of the Brit.

‘The Heaviest Boxing Match in History’ delayed

Ever since then there have been rumblings that they could square off in a boxing showdown which, earlier this year, was confirmed to take place in September.

Alas, fans will have to wait until next year before seeing this titanic collision after MTK Global confirmed Eddie has suffered a nasty bicep injury in training.

“Eddie Hall has suffered a serious injury during training, meaning his planned September showdown against strongman rival Thor Bjornsson has been put on temporary hold – but the rest of next month’s card will go ahead as planned.

“MTK Global are acting as the official boxing advisers to CoreSports for the fight, dubbed as ‘The Heaviest Boxing Match in History,’ but after an injury forced Hall to undergo surgery, the fight is now planned to take place in March or April of 2022.

“Despite the setback for Hall, the rest of the card at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, on September 18 will still go ahead, as CrossFit rivals Josh Bridges and Jacob Heppner collide, while the likes of Avril Mathie, Stefi Cohen and more are all in action.

“Thor could also remain on the card against an opponent to be announced, with work currently ongoing behind the scenes to try and make this possible.”

An official date for the rescheduled fight has yet to be confirmed.
