Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou have taken shots at one another after Ngannou hinted at a switch over to boxing.
Ever since Ngannou captured the UFC heavyweight title, fans have been wondering what could be next for ‘The Predator’. Between a Stipe Miocic trilogy, a Jon Jones superfight and a Derrick Lewis rematch, there are plenty of options.
Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou?
However, in a recent interview, Ngannou made it clear that he isn’t going to rule out a shift over to professional boxing.
“Absolutely,” Ngannou said when asked about making the jump. “I’m open to that. Remember: Boxing was my primary dream, and I still have the fire, the dream inside me, and I believe at some point I’m gonna make a step.
“I don’t want to fight Mike Tyson, but I would like to fight another heavyweight boxer such as Tyson Fury.”
Fury clearly heard about the statement from Ngannou and responded by stating it would be “easy work”. As you can see, Francis wasn’t going to just sit back and take it.

The picture stems from Tyson Fury’s win over Otto Wallin. In that fight, many thought Fury ran the risk of being stopped as a result of the wound that Wallin opened up on his eyebrow.
We all Ngannou has freakish power but the actual question is this – would he be able to get close enough to Fury to land damage?
Tyson is one of the quickest heavyweights in boxing history and that much is clear. Of course, Deontay Wilder proved he’s hittable, but Ngannou is known for being an MMA star and the two sports are very different.
Right now, both men have targets on their back for very different reasons. Ngannou is at the helm of a stacked UFC heavyweight division, whereas Fury is gearing up for a proposed Anthony Joshua showdown.
But in the future, anything is possible.
