Gareth Bale scores insane solo goal for LAFC in huge win

Gareth Bale scored an incredible solo goal for LAFC in their 4-1 victory over Real Salt Lake in MLS – rolling back the years in the process.

The Welshman moved to the United States this summer after the expiry of his Real Madrid contract. Bale reportedly had interest from Premier League and La Liga clubs, as well as Championship side Cardiff City.

However, after bringing his nine-year spell in Spain to an end, Bale is embarking on the American dream.

So far, his time in Major League Soccer has been restricted to substitute appearances, as the 33-year-old looks to build up his match fitness slowly. Bale played just seven games in all competitions for Real last season.

He scored his opening MLS goal in his second game, a 2-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City. His second goal arrived on Saturday night against Real Salt Lake – and it was something special.

Gareth Bale scores ridiculous goal

Gareth Bale has a penchant for scoring incredible goals. Just ask Marc Bartra and Barcelona, the primary victims of his sensational solo run and finish in the Copa del Rey in 2014. And whilst his latest wasn’t on the same scale, it is still one of his finest.

With the scores at 3-1 and four minutes left on the clock, Bale received the ball just past halfway on the right flank. He then evaded the defender’s challenge before running the ball to the byline.

Bale then timed his moment perfectly to sprint away from the defender, before charging into the area. At this stage, there was still plenty to do. However, the Welshman made what came next look easy.

He shifted the ball onto his left foot, before striking an inch-perfect shot into the bottom corner, leaving Salt Lake goalkeeper Zac MacMath with no chance.

It was a timely reminder of what the 33-year-old is still capable of – and LAFC fans will hope for even more from their star marquee signing in the coming months and years.
