Gary Neville stunned by Man United fans’ reaction to his Ole views

Gary Neville is surprised by Manchester United fans criticising him after the former defender refused to call for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking.

Sunday night provided United fans with one of the club’s darkest days in recent memory as they fell to a humbling 5-0 defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Liverpool. The Red Devils found themselves 4-0 down by half time and after a red card and a fifth goal in the second half, many supporters took the time to reflect on what they’d seen and where they go from here.

A lot of soul-searching seems to have taken place within the fanbase and that’s led to many calling for the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager. The Norwegian will forever be known as a club legend due to what he achieved as a forward, but during his stint on the touchline, things haven’t quite gone to plan.

Gary Neville noted that the pressure was really on Ole to bounce back from this but a lot of folks feel like it’s too little, too late.

The backlash continues

Now, Neville has doubled down by voicing his bafflement at how he’s been treated.

“If you would have said 22 years ago that United fans would be turning on me for supporting the guy who won “ Us “ the Champions League I would have said no way! But it’s 2021 folks! In the  “ Johnson Era “ anything goes”

With Tottenham, Atalanta and Manchester City on the horizon, it’s safe to say that the next few weeks are pretty crucial for Solskjaer.
