Harry Kane has made yet another piece of history in the Champions League.
After scoring in the first leg of Bayern Munich’s quarter-final with Real Madrid, the Englishman rode his wave of momentum into tonight, hitting the back of the net once again.
Harry Kane extends fantastic Champions League record
In his remarkable career, Harry Kane has cemented his status as one of the greatest English strikers of all time.
While Wayne Rooney and Alan Shearer have undoubtedly made their cases to be considered the number one, nobody has excelled in Europe quite like the Bayern Munich superstar.
Tonight, he continued to showcase his brilliance, firing an effort straight past Andriy Lunin and into the back of the net.
Not only did the finish mark his 50th in all club competitions this year, but it also extended his record for the most goals by any Englishman in a single Champions League season.
Having beaten the keeper on 12 separate occasions this campaign, the icon is ahead of the pack.
Unsurprisingly, he’s received a great deal of praise from fans on social media.

One posted: “Elite consistency from Harry Kane. 12 goals in a single Champions League season is serious history. He’s proving he can deliver at the very highest level when it matters most.”
Another added: “I am happy that Kane is doing well and getting his flowers as his career gradually comes to an end. One of the best English strikers of all time must be forever remembered. Tottenham made him a serial bottler, Bayern Munich made him a winner.”
A third exclaimed: “They tried to ridicule him as a lucky striker when he was at Tottenham, and he is now widely recognised as the best striker on planet Earth right now.”
A fourth enthused: “Harry Kane smashing 12 Champions League goals this season and leaving every other Englishman in the dust. The bloke’s not just England’s best, he’s straight-up rewriting the record books while carrying Bayern on his back.”
