Gianluigi Donnarumma made a massive blunder against Arsenal in the Community Shield.
Manchester City and ‘The Gunners’ are battling it out at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
Gianluigi Donnarumma makes Community Shield blunder
Gianluigi Donnarumma has proven his skills as a goalkeeper beyond doubt. However, today’s match is one he’ll likely want to forget.
After just 24 seconds, Riccardo Calafiori scored to give Arsenal the lead, leaving Enzo Maresca incredibly frustrated.
Rather than giving Manchester City a much-needed reminder to switch on, the reigning FA Cup champions remained lacklustre, with the London side creating chance after chance.
In the 28th minute, a cross arrived at the head of Kai Havertz, who directed it into the back of the net.
However, it really ought to have been saved, with Donnarumma getting his hand to it.
The mistake didn’t go unnoticed by fans, with many taking to social media to voice their opinions on what had just transpired.
One said: “Donnarumma has just single-handedly won the game for Arsenal,” while another added: “Horrible goalkeeping from Gianluigi Donnarumma.”
A third posted: “This is an awful goal to concede from City’s perspective. Donnarumma has to do much better there.”
Why isn’t Rodri playing for Manchester City against Arsenal?
Going 2-0 down before half-time certainly isn’t ideal for Manchester City.
And that’s not the only adversity Maresca’s men are up against.
Rodri isn’t playing in the fixture. And it has nothing to do with the transfer drama surrounding the superstar.
This is why Rodri isn’t playing for Manchester City in the Community Shield.
