In the middle of one of the most brutal fights of 2024, Karlos Vemola took a thunderous knee to the face, and somehow remained standing, leaving fans utterly amazed.
Showcasing breathtaking courage, the Czech warrior proved beyond doubt why he’s nicknamed ‘The Terminator’.
Fans react to Karlos Vemola taking the biggest knee of 2024
In mixed martial arts history, very few fighters have reached the level of stardom Karlos Vemola has.
The sublime grappler, renowned for his flashy fashion sense and collection of exotic pets, including sharks and crocodiles, has well and truly captured the hearts of a nation, with the 39-year-old walking out in front of an adoring crowd at the O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, to astronomical decibels of noise.
Wearing his iconic Terminator mask, the icon fittingly entered the cage on a search-and-destroy mission, heading straight for Will Fleury at 100mph, rocking him right off the bat with an explosive right hand.
However, quickly regaining his senses, the Irishman began to utilize his far superior size to take Vemola down and inflict brutal ground and pound.
In a testament to his fighting heart, the legend kept trying, but in the third, his mental resolve was truly put to the test, when the Dublin brawler landed a series of unanswered shots, culminating in a knee heard around the world that left Vemola in a state of complete and utter disarray, with his legs clearly betraying him as he danced around the cage.
In all likelihood, any other human being would’ve hit the canvas in that moment, but not Vemola — he simply refused.
Fans watching couldn’t quite believe what had happened. One user exclaimed: “They don’t call him The Terminator for nothing”, while another tweet read: “How is he still standing?”
Showcasing awe-inspiring determination, the future Oktagon Hall of Famer battled through, giving his all until the bitter end.
‘The Terminator’ won the respect of fans around the globe with his valiant performance
While he ultimately lost his belt to Fleury, the spectators in attendance joined in unison to give their hero an almighty cheer for his efforts.
However, as spectacular as the reaction was, Vemola will likely receive an even louder reception, when he completes the biggest trilogy in European MMA history against Attila Vegh in front of 27,000 screaming fans inside Eden Stadium in Prague, at Oktagon 72.
