‘I lost my mind’… Jayson Shaw went ‘mental’ at another player during his most heated Mosconi Cup match ever

EXCLUSIVE: Jayson Shaw was absolutely over the moon after silencing a rival.

The captain of Team Europe, who is currently on the cusp of guiding his team to another Mosconi Cup victory, has made some incredible memories playing in pool’s most intense competition.

Jayson Shaw clashed with Dennis Hatch at the Mosconi Cup

Jayson Shaw is more than just a player, with the Scotsman possessing an innate ability to wind up his opponents and get the crowd going. The maverick, who is quite possibly the greatest showman in the sport, has made his presence felt throughout this year’s SportsBet.io Mosconi Cup, regularly taunting his opponents who’ve had to endure a dominant spell from Team Europe.

However, Shaw isn’t always the matador, with one foe turning him into the bull during a particularly fiery game.

During an exclusive interview with Sporf, the 37-year-old revealed his craziest Mosconi Cup memory.

He laughed: “When we played the Mosconi Cup, and Dennis Hatch was giving me abuse in the crowd. Then, I won, and I went absolutely mental. I went right over to the corner, and I was giving it to them. I think that’s one of the craziest things. I think I lost my mind in that match.”

Jayson Shaw slams Mosconi Cup opponent

When it comes to pool, Shaw’s trash talk is akin to that of Muhammad Ali, with the popular player dishing out insults left, right, and centre at the SportsBet.io Mosconi Cup press conference earlier this week.

However, undeterred by the world number 16, Tyler Styer fired back, with the two engaging in a heated war of words.

But despite playing well, the American has struggled to cope with the pressure of the crowd at the Alexandra Palace in London, UK, missing a vital opportunity to beat Moritz Neuhausen last night.

And of course, Shaw hasn’t backed down from rubbing salt in the wounds.

He asserted: “Tyler obviously gets into it and opens his mouth, and he can’t back it up. He’s been missing everything. I feel like if you’re going to talk smack, you need to back it up, and unfortunately, he can’t.”
