Following the fight, Khan discussed how he believes he’d fare in bare-knuckle boxing against not just the 35-year-old, who’s quickly carving out a remarkable legacy in the sport, but also with the two men he’s spent over a decade chasing.

In an exclusive interview with Sporf, he exclaimed: “I’d spark Floyd Mayweather in bare-knuckle. Then, I’d go for Manny Pacquiao, and then Rolando Dy after that. I respect all fighters. Would I do that, who knows?”

Amir Khan praises Paulie Malignaggi for Ricky Hatton tribute at BKB 54

While Malignaggi may not have emerged victorious at the weekend, the event was about far more than merely battling it out for a title. ‘The Magic Man’ wanted to use his fight as an opportunity to pay homage to his dear friend, Ricky Hatton.

Of course, Khan was moved by his old opponent’s tribute, enthusing: “It is brilliant that Paulie has fought Ricky and me, and today, he dedicated his performance to Ricky Hatton, to make sure that people realise we were all friends. Paulie and Ricky were very close. Paulie went to his gym, met his family, and walked out with his son, Campbell Hatton. Big respect to Paulie for doing that, because Ricky Hatton is a legend of the sport, coming out of Manchester, and he inspired many of us. Paulie should really hold his chin up high, because he made a lot of people smile.”
