Jones looks huge in new training photos after shift in weight class

Jon Jones looks colossal in new training photos that have been released as his preparation for a move up to heavyweight continues.

Ever since he vacated the 205-pound belt twelve months ago, Jones has been training and building his body in the hope of challenging for the UFC heavyweight title in his next fight.

Jon Jones – the next heavyweight king?

The expectation is that he’ll collide with Francis Ngannou at some point in the near future, but with Jon still having financial disagreements with the promotion, it now seems as if Derrick Lewis will be the first man Ngannou defends his belt against.

Either way, Jones is staying as ready as he possibly can with the below Instagram post serving as proof of that.

“If you’re the baddest motherf*cker in the room, you’re probably not training with the right people.” He captioned the photos.

Some have wondered whether or not ‘Bones’ would opt to take a warm-up fight to ease his way into the heavyweight division. Alas, while that may be a smart move, the big money rests in the 33-year-old challenging Ngannou straight away.

The next task for Ngannou will be avenging his 2018 defeat to Lewis when they meet in their proposed rematch this summer. As for Jon Jones, he needs to focus on getting into the best shape imaginable for the Herculean effort that awaits him.

UFC president Dana White has been asked about the issues that they’re having with Jon on several occasions. While White does still acknowledge that Jones is probably the greatest fighter of all time, he also doesn’t appear to be all too pleased with his demands.

This stalemate has no end in sight but one thing is for sure – UFC fans around the world are still as excited as ever over the prospect of Ngannou vs Jones.
