With the help of Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn, this 50-50 contest has captured the world’s attention. According to Serrano’s YouTube star promoter, the fight has earned the accolade of ‘the second quickest selling pre-sale in the history of the legendary Madison Square Garden’.

He said: “Pre-sale for Taylor vs Serrano is closed. It officially ranks as the second highest-selling pre-sale boxing event in Madison Square Garden history. Hell yeah. Congrats, ladies.”

With the early release tickets selling like hotcakes, fans will have to act fast to witness the monumental occasion in person. The near record-breaking event will only gain more publicity as we approach fight week.

So with that being said, what do we know about this battle for the ages so far?

When is the fight and where can I watch it?

Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano will take place on April 30 at Madison Square Garden. It will be streamed live on DAZN.

This is the same date as another significant event. Oscar Valdez and Shakur Stevenson will unify the WBO and WBC Super Featherweight Championships at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. DAZN representative Joe Markovski has confirmed that the two main events won’t clash, as Taylor and Serrano will trade blows earlier in the evening.

Therefore, fans can enjoy both fights on what promises to be an incredible night of boxing.

How much money will Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano make?

It is unclear as of yet exactly how much each fighter will make – but it will be at least seven figures.

Jake Paul confirmed to The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani: “They are getting paid in the seven figures. This is historic. It’s never happened for women, guaranteed seven figures plus pay-per-view.”

This would solidify a groundbreaking moment in women’s sporting history.

What have Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano had to say?

The two boxers involved in the mouth-watering contest have echoed the same sentiments of their promoters. Taylor confirmed that she has wanted to get in the ring with her opponent for years.

The Irish sensation said at the pre-fight press conference: “I’ve had my eyes on Amanda Serrano, and this is a fight I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time now. This is history right here. And all of our hard work is going to be paid off for at this time.”

Taylor has a fearsome reputation. But Serrano still has confidence in getting the job done whilst inspiring women around the globe.

The Puerto Rican fighter beamed: “Women, we are changing the sport. I can’t wait to share the ring with Katie Taylor. I have to thank my coach for not accepting the first couple of fights.

“He knew what I was worth, and now we are working with MVP. I don’t need to talk bad about any of my opponents. I do all of my talking inside the ring.”

This fight is too close to call. Taylor goes into this contest undefeated, but she will want another massive performance to solidify her legacy.

On the other hand, Serrano has done everything there is to do in the sport. The seven weight world champion is undeniably one of the best to lace up the gloves. But she’s yet to fight anyone like her Irish rival.

This match-up is one that fans cannot afford to miss.
