Stormzy leaked Manchester United’s away shirt

Stormzy took to Instagram to show off himself wearing the blue strip with a red and white trim, akin to Manchester United kits of the 1980s.

Adidas, who’ve designed the jersey, went for a classic look, with their Originals logo as opposed to the Essentials emblem.

Stormzy captioned the post: “@Man Utd you’ve seen it here first.” Mayowa Quadri added to the hype by filming the rapper in the concourse at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA, where the FIFA World Cup Final 2026 was held.

Manchester United have now confirmed that the strip the music artist was wearing, is indeed theirs, writing on their website: “Eagle-eyed Manchester United fans may have seen our new away kit on show before it was officially released on Wednesday morning.

“That’s because it was debuted by rap sensation and United fan Stormzy during his trip to the FIFA World Cup final, with our official kit supplier Adidas, over the weekend.”

Why is Stormzy a Manchester United fan?

While from London, Stormzy adores Manchester United.

During an interview with Sky Sports, he explained: “It’s just how the stars aligned for me. When I was younger, I didn’t have a big brother or a dad who supported United so it all kind of came from me – I’m a Cockney Red, what can you do?

“I can’t even remember when I started supporting United, but it was probably just the spectacular view of it all, just watching on the TV this team of David Beckham, Paul Scholes and all these incredible players winning trophies.”
