The race to secure the signature of Erling Haaland is heating up, and Martin Odegaard has confessed to talking to the Norwegian about Real Madrid.
The striker is undeniably one of the best players on the planet. He’s captivated spectators at the Signal Iduna Park with his sensational movement and natural eye for goal. He always knows where to be and when to be there, which has led to him bagging 56 goals in only 60 games.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that a plethora of Europe’s best teams are desperate to bring him to their clubs. And one that stands out from the pack is Madrid. There was even a secret meeting in which the potential move was discussed.
And now supporters of the Spanish giants have an extra piece of information to get their teeth stuck into.

Martin Odegaard admits talking to Erling Haaland about Real Madrid
With the BVB star poised to leave Germany at the end of the season, he’s been asking his international teammate about life in Spain. Odegaard joined the La Liga giants in 2015 and failed to make it there. After several loan spells, he joined Arsenal in 2021. But that doesn’t mean that he can’t offer valuable advice about what it’s like to play for the thirteen-time European Cup winners.
During a press conference, ‘The Gunners’ star said: “We are good friends, so we talk about lots of things, like when I was there. So yeah, we talked about it, but it’s not anything special.”
But despite Haaland’s evident interest in the bright lights of the Bernabeu, according to Sportsmail, there’s another club in pole position. Manchester City is willing to pay his £63 million release clause and make him the best-paid player in the Premier League. The 21-year-old would earn a mind-blowing £500,000 a week.
