Having now bagged a place in the last 32 of the tournament, USA fans are beginning to believe their country could pull off an extraordinary upset and win the whole thing. And having masterminded two victories so far, Mauricio Pochettino is confident that if Christian Pulisic can return from injury, then he could be the key ingredient to helping his side lift the trophy next month.

In his post-match interview, the manager claimed: “It’s always difficult because we want to have all of our players fit. Christian is an important player for us. It was impossible for him to play today. We hope that the next game, he will be available. If we want to win the whole competition, we need our whole team. All the players are important, but Christian is one of the best in the world. We hope that he can recover.”
