Conor McGregor believes he will produce a Knockout of the Year contender against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
The two men are set to meet in a huge lightweight showdown in Las Vegas, with the belief being that it will be the first UFC event in Sin City to be attended by a full crowd since the start of the pandemic.
The pair met back in January on Fight Island, but instead of Conor making it 2-0 in the series, Poirier produced the ultimate equaliser with a vicious second round knockout.
The return of Mystic Mac?
Now, with the bad blood flowing once again, McGregor and Poirier will settle their differences in a huge trilogy showdown.
Of course, while they did help the UFC to start the year off in a bright way, they aren’t the only ones who have been producing magic in 2021.
We’ve seen sensational KO after sensational KO with fans barely having enough time to stop and take a breath.
With UFC 264 being just a few short months away, McGregor seems to think the Knockout of the Year winner has yet to be determined.
Hang tight, horse.

You’ll see the winner July 10th.
Watch me open up the arts and puck these peasants around.

At this moment in time the Irishman is viewed by many as the underdog but as we get closer to the fight, no doubt the McGregor hype train will kick into full force, the same way it always does.
McGregor is the sort of fighter who can make fans believe just about anything – even just a few months on from one of the most damaging defeats of his combat sports career.
Poirier, on the other hand, seems to be as composed as he has been in a long time.
The winner of their meeting, which is almost guaranteed to be explosive, will likely challenge the victor of Michael Chandler vs Charles Oliveira for the UFC lightweight title.
