Memphis sends Inter Miami defender for a hotdog with crazy skill before goal

Memphis Depay has proved that he still has plenty left in the tank after scoring an incredible goal against Inter Miami.

In recent years, Barcelona have found themselves in a deep financial hole. Despite a resurgent season in which Xavi helped guide them to second place, it’s no secret that they’re not out of the woods yet. To illustrate this, Frenkie de Jong has had to fight tooth and nail to remain at the club despite possessing a huge amount of talent.

In addition, as per Sport, Barca have made it abundantly clear that they would happily sell Depay for a bargain price of £17 million. Despite his incredible pace and sublime ability on the ball, it’s looking increasingly likely that the Dutchman will have to play his football elsewhere next season.

But after a moment of magic in Fort Lauderdale, USA, he may have just saved his Barcelona career.

Memphis Depay scores screamer against Inter Miami

The Spanish giants kicked their pre-season tour of the States off in style with a 6-0 victory over David Beckham’s American side. In preparation for a successful 2022-23 campaign, Barca ran riot. But no one impressed more than Depay.

Despite four goals already hurtling past Nick Marsman, the Netherlands international sent the crowd into the biggest celebration of the day. The ball arrived to Depay with his back to the goal. But in an outrageous moment, he showcased just how good he really is.

He turned away from the defender, who consequently found himself spinning into no man’s land. Depay then struck the ball into the bottom left right corner to put his name up in lights.

Ultimately, his wonderful finish showcased exactly what he can do when he’s on form. Thus Barcelona may reconsider their decision to put him up for sale.
