One of Lionel Messi‘s sons had a savage response for fans who were stood outside his father’s house in Barcelona.
Barca announced on Thursday that Messi would be leaving the club after 21 years, despite both parties agreeing on a new contract.
The contract could not be signed because of LaLiga regulations on player registration.
Messi’s movements have understandably been at the very top of the headlines ever since the announcement that he would be leaving Barca.
He has agreed a two-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain and is set to arrive in Paris later today, it has been reported.
There were rumours that he would make the trip to France yesterday, but he remained at his home in Barcelona.
A group of fans gathered outside the house and began to taunt Messi.
One fan managed to speak to Messi’s son, Thiago, and shouted: “Where is Messi? We are going to laugh at him.”
Thiago – who is eight years old – superbly hit back: “And I am going to laugh at your father.”
Messi on Barcelona exit
Messi said in an emotional press conference held on Sunday that it was “very difficult” for him to leave Barcelona, but promised that he and his family would one day come back to what he described as “our home”.
He said: “This is very difficult for me after so many years.
“Last year when all the stuff with the burofax was going on I was convinced [to leave]. But this year, no.
“This is our home and we love Barcelona, as much as from the sporting side as in our everyday life.
“After 21 years here I’m leaving with my wife and three Argentinean-Catalans. We’ll be back, this is our home and I promised my kids as well.”
