Like most fans, NXT star Cameron Grimes grew up idolising John Cena, but it wasn’t until he encountered the legend in person that he realised just how big he actually is.
It’s fair to say that the 16-time world champion is one of the biggest stars in wrestling, both literally and figuratively. His larger-than-life personality is more than backed up by his ginormous star power and bulging biceps.
Throughout his time in the company, Cena solidified his place among the greatest performers of all time. His role as the Dr of Thuganomics regularly left crowds in hysterics as he burned his competitors to the ground with savage rhymes.
And although at 6 ft 1, he isn’t the tallest superstar, he’s certainly one of the most powerful. Having dedicated himself to lifting weights from a young age, he possesses an incredible physique which has allowed him to develop an insane amount of power. He’s showcased this by somehow summoning the strength to deliver his iconic Attitude Adjustment move to the likes of The Big Show and The Great Khali.
While he doesn’t have the height of some of the bigger performers, he certainly has the width, as a future NXT star found out during a show in North Carolina.
Cameron Grimes reveals how big John Cena is
During an interview with Sportskeeda, the former NXT North American Champion revealed the moment he cottoned on to the sheer size of his hero.
As per Wrestling News, he said: “I think it’s absolutely incredible that John Cena’s back.”
“I’ll actually go to a side story here. I remember around 2007, maybe, RAW was in Raleigh, NC and I got to go to the show. John Cena came out, took his shirt off, whipped it around, and threw it in the crowd. And I caught that t-shirt. I remember catching that t-shirt, and the first thing I did was look at the tag on the shirt. I had to know what size t-shirt he was wearing. He had an XXXL t-shirt on, and it was still tight on his arms.
“That man is a freak. John Cena is the man. I look up to him so much. Anytime that he can come back and truly be the star that he is on our show, I’m tuning in every time.”
