Premier League: Top 5 best-paid players revealed

The Premier League is home to some of the best-paid players on the planet, but which five are boasting the most zeroes at the end of their pay cheques.

In not-so-surprising news, as per French outlet, L’Equipe, Manchester City lead the way regarding the best wages. According to Sportsmail, including bonuses, Erling Haaland is the number one earner, taking home £865,000 a week. However, according to this new list, it’s actually his teammate who takes the gold medal.

L’Equipe claim that Kevin De Bruyne bags a whopping monthly gross salary of 1.7 million (£425,000) a week, with Haaland lacking behind on 1.609 million-a-month.

With 39 goals to his name this season, the Norwegian has rightfully earned his place in the top five. However, preventing the ball from hitting the back of the net is equally as important. Therefore, it makes sense that Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea bags the final place on the podium, taking home an impressive £402,250-a-week. This puts him on the same rate as Haaland. But in reality, he’s not raking in the same bonuses.

It’s at this point Liverpool enter the fray. And, of course, their best-paid player is none other than the legendary Mo Salah. With the Anfield faithful so keen to keep him at the club, they pay him a jaw-dropping £1.495m-a-month (£373,750-a-week).

While ‘The Reds’ have struggled this season, the forward is still looking as good as ever, having bagged 20 goals so far this campaign.

And joining him in fourth place, we have a shock entry. Joining Salah is Manchester United youngster, Jadon Sancho.

While he hasn’t hit the heights expected of him yet, his talent is undeniable.

And fans will hope that after taking some time out, he’ll have developed all the tools to unlock his full potential.
