Scott McTominay and Lisandro Martinez involved in Manchester United dressing room bust-up

In the aftermath of their side’s loss in the Manchester Derby, Scott McTominay and Lisandro Martinez couldn’t hold back their emotions.

Following a harrowing start to the season, Erik ten Hag has managed to get his squad firing on all cylinders. Under his guidance, ‘The Red Devils’ have produced some terrific performances, including a 2-1 win over Liverpool. But despite a good run of form, they lacked the minerals to deal with a fearsome Manchester City side.

Like most, the defence fell foul to the sublime ability of Norwegian star, Erling Haaland. The powerhouse bagged yet another hat trick, as did England international, Phil Foden. Ultimately, United lost the match 6-3, resulting in an inquest from the manager.

In recent seasons, the players have blamed the boss rather than taken account of their own mistakes. Consequently, Ten Hag is trying to open the floodgates to self-improvement. However, on this occasion, things got out of hand.

During the candid chat, the gaffer gave every player an opportunity to voice their concerns. And according to The Sun, McTominay and Martinez didn’t hold back. Subsequently, an argument ensued.

The players began to exchange insults until one said: “Concentrate on your own f***ing game.”

In the end, Ten Hag managed to calm proceedings down. However, he was happy to see the lads showcasing their passion. But that being said, he’d rather see them highlight their enthusiasm on the pitch.

On October 9, United got back on the horse and picked up a 2-1 win against Everton, indicating that the inquest may have actually paid off.

This week, the Manchester club hosts Omonia in the Europe League and Newcastle in the Premier League and will hope to produce solid showings en route to two victories.
