Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo continues to stand firm on the current status of star man Harry Kane.
While Nuno has been busy settling into his new role as Spurs boss, Harry Kane has had a pretty eventful summer. After helping England all the way to the Euro 2020 final he’s now ready to take the next step forward in his career by going after a piece of silverware.
The only question is, who is he going to make that pursuit with?
Will he stay or will he go?
Kane has been the talisman for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club across the last few years but after a disastrous campaign under Jose Mourinho, all eyes are on Captain Harry to see whether or not he bites the bullet and leaves.
Manchester City are the leaders of the race for his signature but as of this writing, nothing has been set in stone one way or the other.
During a recent press conference, Nuno gave his own blunt thoughts on the situation.
“Now is the moment for him to recover his energy and rest. Then we can speak,” he said.
“Harry is our player. Period. No need to talk about anything else, I am looking forward to him joining the group.
“Harry is one of the best players in the world. That is all I need to say.”
“What I wish is for Harry to recover well, to have a good rest and when he arrives he will feel that every one of us needs to commit themselves to becoming better.
“We are very ambitious people. We want to do it well. We count on Harry on that.”
Nuno has never been one to show his cards to the media but either way, he’ll be hoping to see Kane pull on that famous white shirt when Tottenham begin their Premier League campaign against Manchester City on August 15.
