In the sub-genre of going viral during England’s sensational Euro 2020 run, Rachel Jessica may be our favourite example of them all.
This tournament has brought out a great deal of creativity within the English population, whether it be plastering their homes with merchandise or Atomic Kitten releasing “Southgate You’re The One”. It’s all about getting behind our boys to let them know that we’ve got their back every step of the way – even if they put us through a few heart-wrenching moments in the process.
Seriously though – is it coming home?
One talented make-up artist, @racheljessicamakeupartist on Instagram, has taken this idea to a whole new level by transforming herself into a variety of Three Lions stars.
So far she’s turned into Gareth Southgate, Harry Kane, Jack Grealish and Harry Maguire, and we anticipate that the best could be yet to come as the countdown to the final continues.
The reaction to her work has been mixed to say the least with some thinking it’s the best thing since sliced bread and others feeling as if it’s a little bit strange.
Whatever your thought process may be it’s near enough impossible not to appreciate and respect the amount of dedication that has quite obviously gone into making these works of art, and if you take a quick look further down her page, it’s clear to see Rachel’s talents go far beyond just recreating some of England’s heroes.
On the flip side there are millions of us who have sat and watched the games with joy and glee, embracing the notion that this could well be a once in a lifetime moment. From pillar to post, the country is starting to come together for the first time in what feels like forever.
The focus will now shift to Sunday as England prepare to tackle Italy in the Euro 2020 final at Wembley.
