Memphis Depay has made a massive splash at Barcelona since joining the Spanish giants in June.
According to his grandmother, the Dutch international had aspired to play at the Nou Camp since he was a child, and the forward is taking advantage of his life-long dream becoming a reality.
He scored the equaliser in his second game against Athletic Bilbao, and he hasn’t looked back since. But in which areas has Depay stood out?

Depay is one of Barcelona’s best talents, whilst Griezmann, who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, provided Barca fans with some electric displays between 2019 and 2021.

The 27-year-old has been a massive threat in front of goal so far this season. He has found the net on seven occasions, which is over halfway towards Griezmann’s total, but the Dutch star has done it in almost a third of the number of games.
We’ve also included Barca team-mate and Netherlands compatriot Frenkie de Jong as a barometer of the strength of Depay’s passing play.
Depay averages a higher amount of shots per game and makes more key passes than his team-mates. However, he is prone to making more fouls and losing the ball more regularly.

However, the positives certainly outweigh the negatives. This season, the pacey and tricky player has posed a real threat to LaLiga defences. His fearsome striking ability has allowed him to slot home several times already, and in all likelihood, there’ll be plenty more goals to come.
