The list of the WWE stars who have wrestled the most matches in 2022 has been released – and it may come as no surprise as to who is in the top five.
WWE is a 52-week-a-year business, meaning there is lots of work for top Superstars. As well as Raw, SmackDown, NXT and premium live events, there are also plenty of house shows throughout the year.
House shows tend to last around three hours, the same length as a Raw taping. There are, however, more matches on display, meaning more Superstars get to compete.
Given the demands on wrestlers, the number of matches the top stars compete in rises steeply as the year progresses. Some, such as Brock Lesnar, Edge and current WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, face fewer opponents due to their particular contracts. But for the full-time stars, matches come thick and fast.
Twitter account Wrestle Ops has compiled a list of the five wrestlers that have competed in the most WWE matches in 2022, including at non-televised live events. Here they are:
5. Liv Morgan – 65 matches
The current SmackDown Women’s Champion, Liv Morgan received just reward for her hard work by winning her first WWE singles title at Money in the Bank.
She started the year as the number one contender for Becky Lynch‘s Raw Women’s Championship, facing her at the Day 1 premium live event in a losing effort.
Momentum for Morgan hasn’t stopped there. She got the pin in a six-woman tag team main event on Raw in April, before defeating Alexa Bliss the week before Money in the Bank. She then won the briefcase in the ladder match at the event, and cashed in on Ronda Rousey later that evening to win the SmackDown’s Women Championship.
4. Riddle – 68 matches
The face of the red and blue brands in recent months, Riddle emerged as the main challenger for Roman Reigns after tag partner Randy Orton suffered an injury.
The ‘King of Bros’ vowed to take revenge on Reigns and the Bloodline for taking Orton out of action. It ended with a WWE Universal Championship opportunity in June, a match which Reigns won.
Either side of that, Riddle has appeared frequently on both brands. WWE now appears to be teasing a future feud with Seth Rollins.
3. Seth Rollins – 72 matches
Aptly the next man on the list, Seth Rollins is undoubtedly of the bonafide stars of WWE. In his character, mic and ring work, Rollins’ talent level is about as high as it gets.
He has been on the losing end of a high-profile feud against Cody Rhodes, but Rollins’ position is such that he is still arguably the leading contender to take the world titles from Reigns eventually. Away from his Rhodes feud, Rollins has teamed with Kevin Owens and faced the likes of Randy Orton and AJ Styles. He also took on Reigns for the Universal Championship at Royal Rumble.
2. Jey Uso – 75 matches
‘Main Event Jey’ has been exactly that in 2022, taking part in a staggering 75 matches to date.
One half of The Usos – and one quarter of The Bloodline – Jey Uso’s ring work has reached another level in recent years. He and brother Jimmy are currently in a high-stakes feud with The Street Profits, which is set to conclude at SummerSlam.
The pair are currently Undisputed Tag Team Champions, winning the titles from RK-Bro in May with help from Roman Reigns.
1. Jimmy Uso – 77 matches
With his brother in second, it is perhaps no surprise to see who takes home the top crown for most matches in 2022 so far.
Jimmy Uso has wrestled two more matches than Jey, putting him at the top of the tree in 2022. You could argue that both men were involved in a match of the year contender against The Street Profits at Money in the Bank. The two teams put on a masterclass of a match. Expect the same at SummerSlam.
