Former WWE star Sasha Banks is now earning loads from public appearances

Sasha Banks may have left WWE, but her bank account hasn’t taken a blow as she’s started booking public appearances in exchange for vast sums of cash.

In May, due to creative differences, the 30-year-old walked away from the world’s premier wrestling promotion. And although the company has yet to officially announce they’ve released the former six-time world champion, Banks has begun setting up appearances while her legal team fights to terminate her contract.

WWE stripped Banks and Naomi of their Women’s Tag Team Titles and suspended them indefinitely. Furthermore, the pair of fan favourites no longer feature in the internal roster.

Leaving the company can spell the end of most wrestlers’ careers. But while Banks’ popularity remains at a high level, she’s willing to take full advantage.

Sasha Banks to make massive amounts of money in public appearances

On August 6 and 7, the performer will make her first non-WWE appearance at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) under her real name, Mercedes Varnado.

This will ultimately delight fans who’d like to chat with their hero in person. However, they’ll have to depart with a pretty penny to do so. Banks is charging $90 for photos and $70 for autographs.

Fightful Select claims that she has an asking price of $30,000 per appearance, with one promoter saying that her lack of previous involvement in the convention scene has helped her ask for this staggering sum.

The monstrous fee matches what AEW’s Sting requests. The promoters state that only Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Goldberg and Shawn Michaels cost more than Banks.

What’s next for Sasha Banks?

The sportswomen will not compete in wrestling until the new year. Therefore, for the time being, she will continue to earn a very comfortable living via the appearance route. However, when she does come back, there will no doubt be a host of organisations willing to snatch her up.

In all likelihood, a stint in AEW could be in the pipeline.
