Recognising her remarkable array of kicks and unrelenting will to win, Jaguar started sponsoring Jade Jones before her first Olympic Games in London, 2012. And after the talented athlete emerged with her first gold medal, the company offered her an amazing gift, which unintentionally had surprising consequences.

In an exclusive interview with Sporf, Jones recalled: “I was just 19. I remember coming back after the win on a bus, and I got a phone call, saying, ‘Do you want a free Jaguar’? I was like, ‘Yeah, this is sick’. It was amazing. I’d always get stopped by the police because they didn’t believe it was mine. It was a big old man’s car. Sometimes, I used to drive around in my pajamas.”

While the world knows Jones for her truly exceptional taekwondo career, she’s now making an enormous splash in the boxing world.

And this evening, the icon is confident in producing a spectacular display.

She enthused: “I’ll be going to put in a massive performance, I’ve trained really hard, and I think I’ll get another stoppage.”
