Thierry Henry marked his return to Monday Night Football by sharing a joke at the expense of fellow pundit Jamie Carragher.
Henry was back in the MNF studio as a guest for Liverpool‘s eventual 1-0 win over Wolves at Molineux.
And with former Liverpool defender Carragher sat across the studio, Henry got off to a great start.
When asked by presenter David Jones how much he had missed the show, the Frenchman replied: “I missed you guys. Happy to be back.
“It’s strange. It’s been a long time hasn’t it, two-and-a-half years?
“Happy to be back, happy to see Jamie two metres away from me, like in the game.”
The trio then burst into laughter, before Carragher tweeted the video with the caption “It’s a long night” followed by laughing emojis.
Before the show went off air, both pundits shared another laugh when Sky showed the infamous clip of Henry showing Carragher a clean pair of heels during his Arsenal days.
Jones summed it up by saying: “Jamie practicising social distancing with Thierry before it was a thing.”
Henry details CF Montreal experience
Henry’s guest appearance saw him give his thoughts on Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, before discussing his recent experiences as a coach.
He recalled the effect that the Covid-19 pandemic had on him whilst managing CF Montreal in last season’s MLS. The team were forced to relocate to the United States for the end of the 2020 season.
That meant a total of around 150 days in quarantine over the course of the campaign, as Henry explained.
“If you really count how many times we had to quarantine as a team last year, or as individuals, because when we were going back to Canada we always had to quarantine,” he said.
“So I think I quarantined over 150 days.
“That’s some time when you’re on your own with your own brain, especially with mine.”
