Troubled WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch involved in fatal car crash

WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch, who fans know as ‘Sunny,’ was involved in a fatal car crash on the 25th of March.

It is another brush with criminality for Sytch, who has had many run-ins with the law in recent years. For example, unlawful possession and DUI are just a few of the crimes that Sunny has committed.

Sadly, the past few years have been a far cry from Sytch’s popularity in WWE. Widely regarded as WWE’s original diva, Sunny captivated wrestling audiences as the manager of numerous tag teams.

Alongside partner Chris Candido and ‘Zip,’ Sytch formed the tag team called ‘The Bodydonnas.’ With Sunny in charge, The Bodydonnas took home the World Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania XII in 1996.

After this victory, Sunny’s popularity elevated her to stardom, bringing her considerable success away from the ring. In the ring, her management of The Smokin’ Gunns and The Godwinns got two more Tag Team Championships. These feats cemented her status as an iconic diva.

Sadly, her stint in WWE was short-lived. After earning a reputation for being problematic backstage, Sytch left the federation and joined the ECW.

Unfortunately, her switch to Extreme Championship Wrestling saw an increase in her struggles with drug abuse. This battle resulted in Sytch having short stints in both ECW and WCW before switching to the independent circuit.

Despite this, her impact on WWE in the 1990s is undeniable. For her achievements, the WWE inducted Sunny into their Hall of Fame in 2011. However, clashes with the law in recent years have overshadowed Sytch’s wrestling achievements.

As reported by the Ormond Beach Observer in Florida, Sytch did not stop when instructed in the early evening of the 25th of March. The driver of the car that Sunny hit was a 75-year-old man. Tragically, he passed away in hospital due to his injuries sustained in the wreck. Police are investigating the fatal car crash that Tammy Sytch caused, taking a blood test from the WWE Hall of Famer. She is suspected of once again driving while under the influence.

Sunny’s troubles away from the ring

In February 2022, Sytch was arrested in New Jersey for many driving-related offences, including driving without a licence, careless and reckless driving, operating under the influence, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
