Tyson Fury jokes about “cheating” against Deontay Wilder

Tyson Fury has mocked Deontay Wilder’s claims that he may have cheated in their heavyweight title rematch last year.

In February 2020, Fury defied the expectations of many by knocking Deontay Wilder out in Las Vegas. In doing so, he cemented himself as one of the very best boxers on the planet in the pound for pound rankings with Wilder opting to use a parade of excuses to explain why he was beaten on the night.

“The Gypsy King” didn’t give his foe the time of day in the months following the win but now that they’re preparing to run it back for a third time, Fury has decided to tease Wilder and some of his outlandish claims from what was easily the most embarrassing evening of the American’s career thus far.

“You know what? I’m going to cheat again because I’m going to smash his face in,” Fury said. “According to him, that’s cheating because he’s not supposed to lose. Unfortunately, I’m going to cheat again. I’m going to kick his ass, sea bass.

Fury’s Wilder mockery continues

“I had horseshoes in there. You know I’m a gypsy don’t you? You ever watch ‘Peaky Blinders’? I loaded the gloves with horseshoes and dynamite. This time I’m going to do exactly the same. Put a bit more metal in there.”

This Saturday we’re set to see the conclusion of this saga as the pair prepare to meet in a trilogy showdown at the T-Mobile Arena. Alas, while the legacy of their rivalry will ultimately be defined by what happens inside the ring, many will always remember some of Fury’s hilarious verbal jabs in the media.
