Tyson Fury shows off weight loss ahead of Anthony Joshua showdown

Tyson Fury is looking in good shape ahead of his blockbuster bout with Anthony Joshua this year, as he continues his Las Vegas training camp.

Fury touched down in Sin City three weeks ago, and has since been updating fans of his progress.

He has been working with trainer Jorge Capetillo in his US promoter Top Rank’s private gym.

Fury has also been joined by WBO super-middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders, as well as unified light-welterweight champion Josh Taylor.

Saunders is preparing for one of the biggest fights of his career. He takes on Canelo Alvarez in a unification bout in May.

Taylor, meanwhile, is fighting Jose Ramirez for the undisputed light-welterweight title in the same month.

It’s fair to say, then, that this training camp is an important one for all three fighters.

And Fury’s latest photos, standing alongside Taylor and head coach SugarHill Steward, show his weight loss ahead of his own massive showdown.

Arum comments spark concerns over fight

Comments from Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum, however, have put the fight against Joshua into doubt.

Arum claims that he hasn’t heard from Eddie Hearn for over a week, and says that the ‘Gypsy King’ could fight Deontay Wilder instead this summer.

Fury defeated Wilder last February in Las Vegas, and although a trilogy fight was scheduled at the time, it was later postponed and then cancelled.

Arum told Boxing Scene: “Let me tell you – last time I talked to Eddie was early last week and he said he was going to have a signed agreement from the Saudis in 24 hours.

“Well he’s a little late. Wouldn’t you be pessimistic if you haven’t heard from him or anybody for a week?

“We’re the promoter with Frank of Fury and we haven’t heard from Eddie in a week.”

He later added: “Maybe we’ll breathe some life into Wilder, and Fury will fight Wilder and Joshua will fight Usyk.”
